External Baldrige Expert

Organizations that lack the time or expertise to produce their own assessment bring in an outside Baldrige expert. In that role, I have produced internal self-assessments or award applications for a number of organizations. The services I provide include:

• Managing the process. I work with an internal contact person to plan the assessment, organize the research, and write the assessment.
• Conducting research. I interview subject matter experts to gather information that will answer the Criteria questions. As part of the interview process, I gather documentation and data that can be used in the assessment.
• Identifying gaps. Opportunities for improvement are revealed during the research and writing processes. I establish a process with the contact person to report these gaps and work with the organization to prioritize and act on them.
• Writing the assessment. I use the research findings to produce an assessment document that fully responds to the Criteria.
• Debriefing senior leaders. In a meeting with the organization's senior leaders, I discuss the organization's strengths and opportunities for improvement and help the leadership team begin the action planning process.
